Mead Dance

2023-2024 PANTHER DANCE TEAM TRYOUTS

We are excited to announce our annual dance team tryouts will be held May 15th-17th from 4:30-7:30 PM in the Mead High School Gym. We are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about dance and ready to commit to a dedicated team for the upcoming school year. 

   Whether you specialize in hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, or any other style of dance, we encourage you to audition. Our team is inclusive and welcoming. Please come prepared to learn and perform choreographed routines in the styles of Jazz/Pom, Hip Hop and Contemporary. Skills assessed are double and triple pirouettes, battements, jumps and leaps, a la seconde turns, showmanship and overall attitude, spirit and mindset. Special skills that are a bonus but not necessarily required are tumbling skills such as front handsprings, headsprings, kip-ups, aerials, front/back walk overs, etc. You will also have the opportunity to show off your individual skills and choreography in small groups or as a solo. 

    In addition to dance skills, we will be looking for dancers who demonstrate strong teamwork, commitment, respect and a positive attitude. As a member of our dance team, you will have the opportunity to perform at various events and competitions throughout the year while being a representation of Mead High School.

All applicants are required to read the MHS Dance Team Manual prior to trying out, and turn in an Application Form as well as three teacher recommendation forms.
