Good Morning, Panther Families,
There was a message and chat going around social media overnight from a student that a threat of school violence was overheard in class at Mead High School. The Sheriff’s Office has investigated this, interviewing the student and others, and has found there to be no specific or credible threat. Rather, we believe discussions were being had about the impacts of school violence and the nationwide chatter of walkouts and protests taking place on April 20.
We have arranged for additional law enforcement presence this morning were there to be any additional questions, comments, or concerns. We are grateful for our community and the culture of “see something, say something” that has developed. We are all necessary components in keeping our school safe!
Your proud principal,
