Bridge Building Competition 2015

Two months ago instructors Andy Arnold and Bill Patrick submitted a proposal to the Washington State Foundation for Structural Engineers for a new District Popsicle Bridge Building Contest.  The SEF approved the proposal and the district received $3300 for the grant. 

Approximately 350 students from both high schools have been working the last two weeks on designing a bridge to be tested during finals week.  The top 25 students from each high school will then be invited to compete at the District Bridge Building competition to be held on Feb. 7, 2015 in the field house at Mt. Spokane High School.  The competition will start at 9:00 am, with check in of bridges from 8:00 to 9:00 am The public is welcome to attend.

The top 10 finishers will be awarded plaques, and the top three finishers receive cash gift certificates.  1st place receives $100, 2nd place receives $80 and third place will earn $ 60.
