Mead School District and Spokane County Fire District #9 have created a joint effort designed at enhancing safety to Mead Students. Beginning with the 2014 Football Season, Fire District 9 will provide firefighter/paramedics at Mead High School athletic events including games Joe Albi Stadium. The firefighter personnel will work alongside school trainer staff to provide instant emergency medical care to injured students. This effort is the first of its kind in GSL history. In exchange, the two Districts, along with the Spokane County Sheriff Office will begin a training program in Mead schools designed at enhancing coordinated response to active shooter situations. This is an example of local government working together to reduce costs, enhance service and create the safest environment possible for your children.
